Thanks for posting. I saw it earlier on the guidinglight.net site. I was glad there was another part and it was very intense. I hate that all of these clips are so short and jsut seem to end right at a good point. Caitlin is so honest and I really admore her for her courage to talk about all of this stuff especially during this part 4 which is highly personal. I love that she opens up to JD about it!
This part was really moving for me personally, because I can identify so much with what she said about the word "fat" and I know it isn't easy to talk about. I really admire her for doing this interview and being so honest.
I think it was genius to have JD interview her. They do seem close so I'm sure she feels comfortable with him and he seems to really care about what she has to say.
Thanks for posting. I too wish they would just post the whole interview once and for all. They want to chop it up just like they do the storylines. Oh well it is GL right?
Caitlin has such an ability to be so open and honest about her struggles and beliefs. I totally agree with her, the word "fat' is one of the most hurtful words you can use against somebody. Anybody who has been on the receiving end of being called this can really understand what it takes for Caitlin to talk about it. I admired her before her surgery, and I admire her even more now. I think she's a great role model. I am also impressed with the total interest and caring John is showing her in these interviews. He has to be a totally great guy in real life.--BettyB
Caitlin continues to impress me. She has such a presence and she really gets to the heart of the matter. The word "fat" is hurtful, I'm use to it and it doesn't bother me as much anymore, but as a young person... I think, unfortunately, I've become numb to the meaning of it. Using that word myself to describe myself has become my way of taking the power from it, I guess. Or at least that's what I tell myself. The way she talks, I find myself nodding with her and agreeing. She understands because she's been there and that makes her story that much more personal to me.
I remember that article she mentioned. On the same cover as her was Nuke's kiss (Gay story in the 2000s still induces shock-- so stupid) and one other story. I found them putting Ashlee/Caitlin's Lap Band story on the cover ridiculous. What is so shocking about a young woman making a decision to better her life? *shakes head* I really commend her for talking so honestly about this. And I love that she is talking with JD and not some nameless interviewer. You can feel the ease with each other. You can feel how much he cares about her.
Thank you for making these clips available to us. **hugs**
