Circumstances Part 6

Okay, so here is part 6. It's actually the final chapter of this story. It's also the first time I've written anything even remotely smutty, so nervous is a bit of an understatement for how I'm feeling about posting it. Anyway, here goes...
"So, you wanted to talk..." Ashlee couldn't take the silence anymore. After that little bathtub incident, Ashlee's whole body had been on high alert, but she had somehow managed to hobble out of the tub and get dressed.
Coop had ordered dinner for them and they had chatted about all sorts of meaningless things. Ashlee barely ate anything, not because she didn't want to but because she was feeling so nervous. After dinner they sat down on the bed so Ashlee could prop her foot back up and so they could talk. Talk... Ashlee was really starting to hate that word.
"No, I want us to talk." Coop looked so relaxed and that kind of annoyed Ashlee, especially when she was feeling so nervous. "And this seems like a pretty good time to do it, since you can't run away from me." Coop glanced down at her foot pointedly, a smirk appearing on his face briefly.
"Ha, ha." Ashlee couldn't keep the sarcasm out of her tone. She knew she had a tendency to run away when she couldn't deal with things, but that was her defense mechanism.
"Look, Ashlee, I miss you, okay? And... when you broke up with me, I was so confused. Because I love you and I thought that you loved me..."
"I've always loved you, Coop Cooper." Ashlee interrupted softly, not quite meeting his eyes.
"Good." Coop said, a soft smile appearing on his face. "That's really good." He seemed so relieved and Ashlee hated that he had ever doubted what she felt for him. She had loved Coop for so long that it was just a part of her, a part of who she was. "I guess, that's what I don't understand, Ashlee. Two people that love each other should be able to get through things together."
"I know that, Coop. But it wasn't about us. It was about me." She fought back tears when she said that.
"Because of the surgery?"
"Yes, no... I don't know." Ashlee felt frustrated because she knew she owed Coop a better answer than that, the problem was at the moment she didn't have one. All she knew was that even though she knew Coop loved her she could never truly believe it. It was like living in a dream everyday and worrying at any moment that she was going to wake up. "Coop, my whole life I was told I wasn't good enough... and sometimes, when I'm with you I still feel like I'm not good enough." She said those words in a whisper.
Coop moved closer to her and put his arms around her with a mumbled "come here." She buried her face in his shirt as she felt a tear slide down her cheek. She felt his words against her hair. "Ashlee... I love you so much. I don't know how to make you believe that, but..." He pulled away and tilted her chin up so that she was staring in to his blue-green eyes. "...what I do know is that we aren't going to figure that out if we're not together."
"I know." Ashlee said. And she did. She knew he was right. This time they'd spent together had reminded her that she and Coop belonged together. "I just thought that, you, you know, had all this book stuff going on and I didn't want you to worry about me. I had a lot of things to deal with, I still do. I'm actually seeing a therapist." She added and met his eyes to see his reaction.
"Is it helping?" She saw nothing but love in his eyes.
"It is. I mean, it's going to take time, but yeah, it's helping."
"Ashlee, all I want to do is help you through this." Coop pushed her hair behind her ear and pressed a kiss to the top of her head.
Ashlee closed her eyes, savoring the tenderness of that moment. "Coop, I don't want you trying to fix me."
"I just want to be here for you." The sincerity in his eyes was so evident that Ashlee couldn't help the smile that pulled at her lips.
"You know, I was afraid I was... going to lose you... because of what happened..." Ashlee didn't know how to tell him that she had regretted the break up even though at the time it seemed to be the right choice. Luckily, Ashlee didn't have to try and come up with the words. Coop seemed to already understand.
He took her face in his hands and gave her a gentle kiss. "You're not going to lose me, okay? I'm not going anywhere." Ashlee grinned at him and then because she couldn't resist she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled his lips down to hers.
*****************************************************
Coop let her control the kiss. Her hands were in his hair, holding him close. When she touched her tongue to his lips he didn't hesitate to open his mouth and let her in. Ashlee kissed him like she was starving for him and he kissed her back just as eagerly. It felt like years since the last time he was with her.
Her hands slid from his neck down his chest to the bottom of his shirt. She tugged impatiently at it, her hands sliding underneath to touch bare skin. Coop moaned into her mouth. He'd missed having her hands on him. His shirt had bunched up around his chest and he felt Ashlee's frustrated sigh against his lips. He couldn't help the chuckle that escaped as he pulled away from her and pulled his shirt off. He watched her eyes travel down his chest. The lustful look in her eyes made him lose his patience. He pushed her down on to her back, practically falling on top of her.
Coop pulled off her t-shirt and didn't hesitate to get rid of her lacy white bra either. His hands slid down her body to the PJ pants she was wearing. Ashlee raises her hips and helps him push down her pants and panties. When she was naked beneath him he took a moment just to look at her. His eyes ran over her body and all he could think was how beautiful she was.
"Ashlee, you're perfect." Her blue eyes filled with tears and she shook her head a little as if to disagree, but when he took her breast in his hand it stopped her from saying anything. "You are. Every part of you." He said taking her nipple in to his mouth. Ashlee let out a moan and arched her back pushing herself against his lips. He moved to her other nipple wanting to lavish equal attention on each. Her breath came out as a pant.
"Coop... please..." She wrapped her legs around him pressing herself against his erection. She reached between them pulling at the zipper on his jeans. He pulled away from her and he heard her let out a desperate whimper. He pulled his jeans off and grabbed a condom from the night stand and put it on.
As soon as he had it on Ashlee pulled him back down on top of her. Her legs wrapping around his waist, her hips arching in to his. Coop leaned down and kissed her, pushing his tongue in to her mouth at the same time he thrust in to her. He tasted her moan on his tongue. It had been too long since he'd been with her, he couldn't take it slow. He thrust into her again and again, relishing the feel of her nails on his back.
"Ashlee, open your eyes. I want to see you." She opened her eyes and as she tumbled in to ecstasy, Coop watched every emotion cross her face. Watching her was enough to push him over the edge.
**************************************************************
Ashlee was trying to catch her breath, but it wasn't easy. Especially not when Coop was laying on top of her. She didn't want him to move though, she wanted this closeness with him after so much time apart. She didn't even mention that her foot was throbbing, at least not right away.
Eventually though, she had to say something. "Coop?" His face was buried in the crook of her neck. She idly ran her fingers through his hair.
"Hmmm?"
"My foot is killing me." Coop rolled off her and sat up.
"I forgot all about... is it okay... let me see..." Coop picked up her foot and gathered some of the scattered pillows, propping her foot back up and looking it over. "Sorry." He said, still looking at her foot.
"Coop..." When he glanced at her Ashlee smiled and crooked a finger at him. She grabbed him and pulled him in for a kiss. "Don't be sorry." Coop kissed her again and she felt so much love in his kiss. When he pulled away she smiled at him and murmured "I love you, Coop Cooper. Now go get me some ice for my foot." Coop rolled his eyes and let out a chuckle. As he got up and pulled on his jeans, Ashlee couldn't help smiling to herself. She was going to be okay and she was going to be with Coop. Everything else was just details.
