*nervous smile* Feedback would be lovely.
"You were waiting... for me?" Ashlee was starting to get a really bad feeling about this situation. Blake had done some pretty crazy things in her life and Ashlee didn't want to be part of the next crazy thing she did.
"That's right. Did you think I was here for Coop?"
"I... um... didn't..." Ashlee wasn't sure what she was supposed to say, but it didn't matter because Blake interrupted her.
"Well, in a way I am here for Coop. The funny thing is, he seems pretty attached to you. I don't understand it, but I realize that the only way I am going to have Coop is to get rid of you." Blake's tone was so reasonable as if she was discussing the weather.
"Get rid of me? Blake, I'm not going anywhere. I really think you should leave before he gets here." Ashlee gestured to the door.
"Coop isn't going to be here for a while. He's waiting on you over at Company." Ashlee's eyebrows shot up at that little revelation.
"He sent me a text message asking me to meet him here." Ashlee felt an edge in her voice. Blake didn't say anything, she just held up Coop's cell phone and smirked.
"Okay, Blake... so you set us up... what do you want?" Ashlee was starting to get afraid now. She had always known Blake was a little crazy, but she hadn't been expecting this.
"I want Coop, I told you that." Blake's voice still held that reasonable tone that was so at odds with the situation.
"Coop isn't interested in you, Blake." Ashlee said the words slowly as if talking to her like a child would someone how help.
"Oh, he's interested. Did you know that we almost slept together? The only reason it didn't happen was you." She threw out that question because she wanted it to hurt. Ashlee wasn't hurt though, Coop had already told her about it when they first got back together. She knew he had been drinking and upset and he had made a mistake and technically they were broken up at the time.
"Almost is the key word in that sentence." Ashlee replied.
"Look, Ashlee... this isn't personal. I just get what I want and I want Coop. I'm sorry it has to be this way."
"Be what way....?" Ashlee's voice trailed off when Blake reached in her purse and pulled out a gun. Her breath caught in her throat. Surely Blake wouldn't actually kill her. Ashlee looked at Blake holding the gun. She seemed confident, not nervous at all, right then Ashlee knew she would kill her. "Blake... you don't want to do this... what about your kids?"
"My kids will be fine, but it's sweet of you to care." Blake's voice dripped with sarcasm.
"Blake... if you shoot me, you will go to jail... and your kids..."
"Ashlee, I'm not going to jail. Nobody will ever know I was here." She smiled. "This is going to look like a robbery gone wrong... so sad that Ashlee walked in at the wrong time. Coop, of course, will find you. He'll be devastated and he'll need someone to lean on to help him through this tragic even."
"I guess you think you'll be the one he leans on." Ashlee said this quietly. She now realized how deadly serious Blake was and she was terrified. For a moment she wondered if this was how Alan had felt when she'd shot him. She pushed that thought away as quickly as it had come, she had to think of a way out of this. Unfortunately the only thing she could think about was Coop finding her body. Ashlee felt tears well up in her eyes but she held them back. She couldn't be weak in front of this woman.
"Naturally. I'll make sure of it." Blake shrugged. She cocked the gun. "I am really sorry about this." Ashlee didn't think she just ran at Blake and grabbed her arm pushing it away. She struggled with her, they were both holding the gun fighting over it. Blake was surprisingly strong for such a small woman. Ashlee was acting purely on instinct, if she had stopped to think about it she would've been terrified. As they wrestled with the gun she heard it go off. Ashlee thought she was going to die.

Coop glanced at his watch again. Ashlee was 40 minutes late. It wasn't like her to be late at all, much less THIS late. He went over to the bar where Buzz was cleaning up.
"Dad... did Ashlee call here?"
"No, wouldn't she call your cell?"
"I lost my phone earlier." Coop let out a sigh, wondering if Ashlee had sent him a message that he had never received. "I hope nothing has happened to her."
"Coop, I'm sure she's fine. You lost your phone, she probably had to change plans and texted you, but you never got it."
"Yeah... yeah, I guess you're right. I think I'll head back to the Beacon and see if she's in her room."
Coop left Company and headed home to the Beacon. He knew his dad was probably right, but he still had an uneasy feeling. He went to Ashlee's room and knocked. When she didn't answer he used his key to get in. His uneasy feeling was growing. Coop didn't know where Ashlee was and he was starting to get seriously worried. He headed back to his room so he could do a more thorough search for his cell phone. If she did send him a message, he wanted to see it.
Coop opened the door to his room and stopped abruptly. He had found Ashlee.
